Ravinnetaiturit
A FARMER GROUP FOR MORE EFFICIENT NUTRIENT USE
2026 – 2028

Ravinnetaiturit is a farmer group project. In it, four farms from Southwest Finland and Satakunta are building a lasting peer network for more efficient nutrient use and data-driven decision-making. The group includes both arable and livestock farms, some of them organic. The project runs in parallel with the OptiNutri project. OptiNutri carries out trials and measurements on the farms, and Ravinnetaiturit interprets the results together so that they become shared knowledge for the whole group.
The aim is to make nutrient use more planned, to strengthen farmers’ ability to use data in decision-making, and to improve the farms’ cost-efficiency. The project will deliver three things:
-
a decision-making framework for nutrient planning, developed jointly by the group
-
concrete forms of cooperation, such as joint purchasing
-
a farmer group that continues its work after the project ends.
In the longer term, the project seeks better profitability, lower nutrient loading to waterways, and improved farmer wellbeing.
The project is funded by the Southwest Finland Centre for Economic Development through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, and by the participating farms.

WP1: JOINT LEARNING AND DATA-DRIVEN MANAGEMENT
-
Joint interpretation of the soil, crop and nutrient data collected in the OptiNutri project, and building a shared decision-making framework to support nutrient planning.

WP2: PEER NETWORK AND COOPERATION
-
Mapping and piloting forms of cooperation between the farms, such as joint purchasing, shared expert services and services the farms provide to each other. The group will also build an operating model that lets it continue after the project.
